Maramag, Bukidnon is vying for Nutrition Honor Award (NHA) - the highest award given to Local Government Units with remarkable performance in nutrition after sustaining the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) Award for two consecutive years.
Assistant Secretary of Health Maria-Bernardita T. Flores, CESO II and Executive Director IV of NNC led the inter-agency National Evaluation Team (NET) visited Maramag, Bukidnon to validate the Municipality’s 2016 nutrition program performance on August 21-25, 2017. NET composed of the following members: Azucena Banga- Youth Sectoral Leader, San Pablo Apostol Parish; Ariel Odtojan- Advocacy Specialist, World Vision Dev’t Foundation, Inc. of Cebu City; and Jomarie Tongol- Nutrition Officer III, National Nutrition Council
Implementation of nutrition programs in Maramag were validated to determine efficiency and effectiveness particularly the changes on nutritional status of children, desk review of accomplishment reports vis-à-vis Nutrition Action Plans and validation weighing of three sampled barangays visited. The NET also interviewed the members of the Local Nutrition Committees both municipal and barangay levels.
Should Maramag, Bukidnon qualify and satisfy a minimum final score of 98%, it will be Normin’s 9th LGU to receive the NHA. pcdt
