Municipality of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon is on their first step closer in reaching the Nutrition Honor Award (NHA), the highest award given to Local Government Units with outstanding performance on nutrition. After maintaining the Green Banner Award for three consecutive years in the region and bags the Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) Award in 2017, Manolo Fortich is now vying for First Year CROWN Maintenance Award.
The inter-agency National Evaluation Team (NET) headed by Nutrition Officer III Maria Cynthia B. Vengco of the Nutrition Surveillance Division of NNC, visited Manolo Fortich on April 9-13, 2018 and validated the 2017 nutrition program performance of the municipality. Other members of the team composed of NO II Racelline Faye Calangi-NSD-NNC; Azucena R. Banga, Youth Servant Leader-San Pablo Apostol Parish and Ramil Deniega from the Office of the Undersecretary for Special Concerns of Department of Agriculture.
Manolo Fortich was validated based on nutrition program efficiency and effectiveness particularly the changes on the nutritional status of 0-51 preschool children, desk review of Nutrition Action Plans and its accomplishments as well as interviews with the members of the Local Nutrition Committees and validation weighing in the five (5) randomly selected barangays.
If ever Manolo Fortich meet the evaluation criteria and garner a score of 90% and above, the LGU will be qualified again for the 2nd year CROWN maintenance, if succeed the municipality will contend for NHA hopefully in 2020. pcdt
