29 August 2018- The Breastfeeding Angels were gathered again for their 2nd Infant and Young Child Feeding (IYCF) Forum and General Assembly held at Ozamiz City Gymnasium. The Breastfeeding Angels were organized, first congregated in the year 2012 and federated in the year 2016. For several years, the ANGELS acted as A-dvocator, N-eutralizer, G-enerator, E-ducator and L-eader.
This year’s event theme: Breastfeeding WOW (Working Out Well) in Ozamiz!: A Date with Breastfeeding Angels”, was spearheaded by the City Nutrition Office led by CNAO Lelita G. Navarez and attended by more than 500 Breastfeeding Angels, CNC, BNC, media partners and other stakeholders. The forum is in line with the celebration of the National Breastfeeding Awareness Month with the theme: “Pagpapasuso’y Pundasyon para sa Malusog at Mahabang Buhay ng Ina at Sanggol”, a strategy in order to keep the Breastfeeding Angels updated with the current IYCF issues and relevant information while building their camaraderie.
Highlighted in the event are the series of lecture, open forum, DOST PINOY Quiz Bee and Film Showing. The Breastfeeding Angels also showcased their talent through sing and dance number and even more sparked in their Search for the Queen of Breastfeeding Angels 2018.
