20 July 2020, Cagayan de Oro City – The National Nutrition Council (NNC) X is set to air 10 Kumainments Nutrition School on-the-Air (NSOA) radio program on 21 July 2020. This initiative is included in the regional office’s local media campaign to sustain nutrition promotion efforts.

For 2020, the radio program will be aired every Tuesdays and Thursdays, 10:00 – 10:30 AM over Mellow Touch 95.7 FM, covering Cagayan de Oro, Misamis Oriental, and nearby provinces. A replay will be done at 7:30 – 8:00 PM of the same day. NNC X technical staff will serve as radio anchors for all of the 12 sessions of NSOA.

Given the current health crisis, key points on COVID-19 and nutrition will be integrated in the learning modules, which will be discussed using the local dialect. Moreover, NNC X ties up with Cagayan de Oro City Nutrition Office to identify mothers in partner barangays who will enroll in the program. Barangays Balulang, Camaman-an, Carmen, Kauswagan and Pagatpat are the partner barangays for this year.

The 10 Kumainments NSOA is a radio program of the NNC highlighting the 10 Kumainments, a popular version of the revised Nutrition Guidelines for Filipinos. It consists of short and simple messages for better recall and understanding. A Graduation Ceremony will be held depending on the development of the situation to recognize the participants who tuned in and actively participated in the short quizzes every after episode.
