6 August 2020, Valencia City - (CNPC Julie Ann Colipano) The newly installed one (1) unit of Nutrihut was donated and handed over by the Valencia City Chambers of Commerce and Industries Association, Inc. (VCCCIAI) to the Local Government Unit of Valencia. A ceremonial turnover of the key and the signing of Memorandum of Agreement were conducted last 10 July 2020 at the NUTRILAND, Barangay Pinatilan, City of Valencia, graced by Mayor Azucena P. Huervas.
This is part of the attainment of the mission and vision of the Nutriland which is to be the Center of Education and Rehabilitation for nutritionally at-risk individual while showcasing the best practices in nutrition towards a healthy community. The Nutriland is also a venue to provide services thru trainings and seminars to all individuals, rehabilitate identified targets, and empower families for Health and Nutrition Improvement.
Nutriland is a place where the community will find what nutrition is all about, how the whole City, the Non-Government Organizations (NGO), Private Sectors and the Barangays collaborate in achieving the goal of ONE NATION IN NUTRITION. Achieving zero malnutrition is not a simple feat, but with the concerted efforts of all sectors, stakeholders and advocates, it is not impossible.
The VCCCIAI, as a member of the City Nutrition Committee, donated one (1) unit of Nutrihut amounting Php60,000 which will be used as in house facility to rehabilitate the undernourished 0-59 months old children. In addition, President Carmen C. Yap committed to donate additional one (1) unit of Nutrihut for the realization of the said project. An overwhelming support from various stakeholders have been extended to the City through the Nutrition Committee. Thus, the City Government acknowledges their great contribution.
