This year, the focus of the contest is the 46th July Nutrition Month with the theme, “Batang Pinoy, SANA TALL.… Iwas stunting, SAMA ALL! Iwas ALL din sa COVID-19!” Together with NNC X and its media group the Media Advocates for Nutrition in Governance for Region 10 or MANGO Diez, this year’s round of contest is being done in partnership with Philippine Health Insurance Corporation and Rotary Club of Carmen.

The contest aims to increase awareness on stunting, and the importance of optimum nutrition during the First 1000 Days of life. The contest further intends to create interest and discover creativity among junior and senior high school students to promote awareness and mobilize actions to address stunting which is in line with the 2020 Nutrition Month. Contest is open to all public and private junior and senior high schools in Region 10.

Observance of minimum health protocols was emphasized in the contest mechanics to ensure that the cast and producers are safe from the threat of COVID-19. Each entry will be rated based on the criteria: 1) relevance to the theme – 40%; 2) creativity and originality – 30%; 3) technical quality – 20%; and 4) social media engagement – 10%, a total of 100%.

Contest teaser was posted via Facebook last 27 August 2020 to encourage students to join, this also gave the students an opportune and ample time to conceptualize ideas.

The contest was also widely disseminated to schools across Northern Mindanao through Department of Education 10 Memorandum 381 series of 2020, dated 12 October 2020.
