1. LGUs with Decreasing Stunting Prevalence (2017-2019)

Stunting or “putot”, a form of chronic malnutrition, is the impaired growth and development experienced by children due to poor nutrition, repeated infection, and inadequate psychosocial stimulation.

LGUs with decreasing trend of stunting prevalence among under-five years old children for three (3) consecutive years were commended during the ceremony. This year is the second year that the said award is being conferred to the LGUs. The award was based on the 2017-2019 Operation Timbang (OPT) Plus reports submission received by NNC X. Across the region, a total of 31 LGUs received the Certificate of Commendation. Below are the LGUs who received the same award in 2019 (second-timers for 2016-2018 stunting prevalence) and in 2020, respectively.
