Eight (8) local government units (LGUs) of Bukidnon Province identified as recipients of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program are on the move as they prepare for the program’s implementation.
The National Nutrition Council Region 10 (NNC X) through Provincial Nutrition Coordinator (PNC) Stephanie C. Barrio conducted technical assistance (TA) and disseminated program updates to all recipient LGUs and Bukidnon Province last 15, 18-20, and 26 January 2021. All LGUs were visited on-site except for Valencia City, of which TA was conducted virtually. The activity was participated by the Nutrition Action Officers, nutrition office staff, and Nutritionist-Dietitians assigned in the recipient LGUs.
TA provided included tips on navigating Microsoft Excel for easier consolidation of masterlist of beneficiaries, especially for the 6-23 months old children data. Other topics or concerns raised were the status of the LGU’s Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) and masterlist of pregnant and children beneficiaries; Barangay Nutrition Committee program orientation schedule; and LGU preparations on the facilities required during program implementation. LGUs were instructed to fast-track the submission of masterlists and signed MOU as program implementation is eyed to begin on the second week of February 2021. PNC Barrio also encouraged the LGU to conduct meeting together with other LNC members to help them prepare and manage program implementation, especially on the strategies to be done for smooth conduct of the program.
NNC X together with the recipient LGUs will convene again to conduct Orientation on Tutok Kainan Program Implementation. It is expected that through the program, along with the LGUs’ steadfast support, problems of stunting and other forms of malnutrition will be addressed for the Province of Bukidnon. (PNC Stephanie C.
