23 April 2021, Cagayan de Oro City – On 23 April 2021, Nutrition Program Coordinator Gladys Mae S. Fernandez and Nutrition Officer Sheena Marie G. Talle visited OIC-Regional Director Albert E. Gutib of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) X. Together with NNC X were Ms. Pamela E. Legaria of DOH Center for Health Development – Northern Mindanao and Mr. Glenford C. Labial of DOLE X.

DOLE X is a member to various nutrition structures, such as the Regional Nutrition Committee, R-Technical Working Group, Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team, Regional Bantay Asin Task Force and the Regional Infant and Young Child Feeding Task Force, among others. As such, the roles of DOLE for each structure were discussed by the group.

The courtesy call also focused on the updates on the nutrition program implementation, particularly in Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte. Opportunities and plans for harmonizing sustainable livelihood programs to cater the nutritionally vulnerable groups were also tackled.

OIC-RD Gutib shared his past experiences and participation in the regional nutrition scene in other regions where he was previously assigned. Last November 2020, he was assigned as the OIC for DOLE X.
