Article Resumption of MELLPI9 August 2021, Cagayan de Oro City – This year, the provinces and highly urbanized cities (HUCs) in Region 10 will undergo the regular Monitoring and Evaluation of Local Level Plan Implementation (MELLPI), following a year of suspension of M&E activities due to the coronavirus disease pandemic. Performance for the year 2019 will be assessed for this year’s round of M&E.

The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) headed by Dr. Arlita Amapola B. Minguez of CHED 10 have been facilitating virtual and face-to-face technical assistance and M&E activities since May of this year, including the evaluation for outstanding local nutrition focal points.

Six dimensions for nutrition program management will be assessed using the MELLPI Pro tool: 1) Vision and Mission, 2) Nutrition Laws and Policies, 3) Governance and Organizational Structure, 4) Local Nutrition Committee Management Functions, 5) Nutrition Interventions/Services, and 6) Changes in the nutritional status in the LGU.

Local government units who are subject to the regional evaluation are: Camiguin Province (16-17 August), Misamis Oriental Province (5-6 August), and Iligan City (10-11 August). Monitoring will be done for the Province of Bukidnon on 19-20 August, being a recipient of the Nutrition Honor Award; while technical assistance was given to national awards contenders Misamis Occidental Province, and Cagayan de Oro City last 20-21 May, and 1-2 June, respectively.

All M&E activities are expected to conclude on 20 August, while deliberation of results and ranking will be done on 25 August.

LGUs with dimensions rated not lower than 60%, and with overall rating of at least 85% will be granted the Green Banner Seal of Compliance during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony in November 2021. (NO III Sheena Marie G. Talle)
