25 NSOA Graduation6 October 2021, Cagayan de Oro City – A total of 51 on-air and Facebook participants were able to finish all 12 sessions of the National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region X’s 10 Kumainments Nutrition School on-the-Air (NSOA) radio program. A virtual ceremony was held to recognize all graduates last 1 October 2021 via Zoom.

Likewise, the virtual activity was done to conclude the 10 Kumainments NSOA aired over Strong Radio 95.7 FM and Facebook Live, as well as to recognize the students for their active participation in all Kumainment sessions of the radio program.  NNC X invited all graduates, Station Manager Ardizon T. Arsua of Strong Radio 95.7 FM, Cagayan de Oro City Nutrition Office staff led by City Nutrition Action Officer Nenita F. Rabe, and the Barangay Nutrition Scholars of the five (5) participating barangays, namely, Bugo, Carmen, Indahag, Iponan and Nazareth.

At the start of the sessions, there were 82 participants for the radio program.

The highlight of the activity was the presentation of graduates and awarding of e-certificates to the honor and graduate students where Ms. Karren T. Obligar of Zone 9, Anhawon, Brgy. Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City was hailed as Class Valedictorian, while Ms. Cherry P. Randing of Carmen, North Cotabato, an avid Facebook viewer, was awarded as the Class Salutatorian. The honor students will receive Certificate of Recognition and Certificate of Participation on top of the tokens from NNC X.

Ms. Obligar and Ms. Randing shared her testimonials and insights on the radio program. Ms. Obligar enumerated the key points of the 10 Kumainments and how the radio program helped her husband to abstain from his vices, especially smoking. On the other hand, Ms. Randing shared that the program helped her apply the knowledge she learned to her day-to-day living. Also, she said “Nagpasalamat jud ko sa NNC X kay open to all ang program, biskan lagyo kay pwede moapil. Dako kaayo og tabang para kanamo tanan, inyohang ginahatag nga impormasyon every session naghatag kanamo og bag-ong idea sa mga masustansyang pagkaon, ug angay likayan, sakit nga mabaton og sobra or dili tama atong ginakaon.” (I'm thankful to NNC X because the program is open to all, although we are not from Region 10, we are able to participate. You are a great help to all of us, the information shared in every session gives us a new idea of ​​healthy foods and foods that should be avoided, and the health risks the disease of having too much or not eating right.”

To conclude the event, the 51 students of the 10 Kumainments NSOA were declared as graduates for its 2021 implementation. Nutrition Officer III Sheena Marie G. Talle led the pledge of commitment as advocates of the 10 Kumainments.

Nutrition Program Coordinator Gladys Mae S. Fernandez in her opening remarks wished that all the 10 Kumainments lessons they have learned will be practiced by heart. Lastly, NPC Fernandez encouraged everyone to share the messages of 10 Kumainments to their family members, neighbors and to the community.
