(21 October 2021, Cagayan de Oro City/OIC-DNPC Marites A. Gomez) The Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental under the leadership of Governor Bambi Emano ensures that all Misamisnons are safe, healthy and secured. True to its catchphrase, “Kung taga MisOr Ka, Secure Ka”. 

Inadequate dietary intake has been identified as one of the immediate causes of malnutrition.  In order to address this concern, Gov. Emano even on his third and final term as governor of this province, leaves no stone unturned.  Proper coordination from the active members of the Provincial Nutrition Committee (PNC) particularly the Provincial Agriculture Office headed by Mr. Jose Apollo Pacamalan and Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office headed by Mr. Jhunleymar Abella and the pooling of resources from other active member agencies, were geared towards appropriate and timely nutrition interventions.

As per Resolution No. 650-2020 “Resolution Supporting and Adopting Regional Development Council (RDC X) Resolution No. 7 Series of 2018 entitled Supporting the Revival of the Garden of Go, Grow and Glow (G4) Initiative”, authored by Provincial Board Member Nancy S. Madjos and was approved on 8 September 2020.  Thus, this province-wide search for “Outstanding G4 Barangay and Outstanding G4 Household”, urban and rural categories.

The Provincial G4 Evaluation Team composed of two members from Provincial Agriculture Office, Mr. John Carlo Quibido and Ms. Rubilen Vallar, from Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office, Ms. Emlyn Calingin conducted province-wide search from 12-29 October 2021 pursuant to Memorandum Order JLM No. 2021-2089 issued by Atty. Jocelyn Lood-Mateo, Acting Provincial Administrator.

The Provincial Health Office-Nutrition Division has allocated substantial funds for the cash award of the winners as well as consolation prizes to the non-winning entries and plaques of recognition/appreciation amounting to Php 384, 000.00. The awarding will be on December, 2021.
