12 November 2021, Cagayan de Oro City – Local Nutrition Program Coordinator (LNPC) of the Year Region X, Ms. Sherill Faith P. Española of Cagayan de Oro City is among the five contenders nationwide for the 2019 Search for LNPC of the Year.

The search, done on 11-12 November 2021 via Zoom application, was facilitated by the National Evaluation Team (NET) led by Team Leader Ms. Racelline Faye D. Calangi (National Nutrition Council), with members Ms. Julia Marie S. Los Baños (NNC) and Ms. Janice P. Feliciano (Department of Health).

The two-day evaluation activity covered the opening program, desk review, interview of City Nutrition Program Coordinator Española, and feedbacking of initial findings by the NET.

NNC Region X Office led by Nutrition Program Coordinator Gladys Mae S. Fernandez, members of the City Nutrition Committee, Barangay Nutrition Action Officers in Ms. Española’s assigned barangays, and City Nutrition Office staff expressed their support to Ms. Española by participating in the entire duration of the evaluation.

Results of the national evaluation will be out after the deliberation of results and ranking by the NET.

CNPC Española was named by the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team as the region’s outstanding CNPC, with astounding perfect scores in the monitoring and evaluation tool, and interview.

CNPC Española makes history together with Cagayan de Oro City Nutrition Action Officer Nenita F. Rabe and Misamis Occidental Provincial Nutrition Action Officer Marichu G. Tijing as the first outstanding local nutrition focal points (LNFPs) for their respective categories. (NO III Sheena Marie G. Talle)
