APPROVED TK DSP Buk Storage inspection8 December 2021, Cagayan de Oro City – In relation to the impending Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (TK DSP) Phase II implementation, Provincial Nutrition Focal Point (PNFP) Gwyn Y. Balaba paid a visit to the cities of Valencia and Malaybalay, Bukidnon.

PNFP Balaba took the initiative to expedite storage facility inspection in preparation for the start of TK DSP Phase II. The inspection conducted was assisted by City Nutrition Action Officer (CNAO) Hazel P. Dondonayos with City Nutrition Program Coordinator and TK DSP in-charge Hannah P. Gare for Valencia City, and CNAO Eza C. Canonigo with CNPC/program-in-charge Rhea Bentulan.

The Valencia City Nutrition Committee will utilize their Nutriland in Brgy. Pinatilan as the storage area and facility for the Phase II food commodities. The Nutriland is a 2.5-hectare lot dedicated to be an avenue for the city’s nutrition programs. CNAO Dondonayos showed the spacious and well-ventilated area to PNFP Balaba as part of the inspection.  Moreover, once the TK DSP Phase II commences, CNPC Gare will safeguard and monitor the food commodities regularly throughout the implementation.

On the other hand, Malaybalay City Nutrition Office through CNAO Canonigo opted to use the available space in their office as storage area for the food packs. That way, they can easily monitor the condition and situation of the food commodities. CNPC Bentulan was given the directive to facilitate orderly storage and movement of the ready-to-eat commodities for children 6-23 months old.

Securing such storage facilities is part of the program LGUs’ commitment and counterpart for the program.

The implementation of the TK DSP Phase II is scheduled to commence in 2022, covering the same eight LGUs under Phase II. (PNFP Gwyn Y. Balaba)
