29 April 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The National Nutrition Council (NNC) X represented by Provincial Nutrition Focal Point (PNFP) Lizelle Bete, conducted another session of Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (TK DSP) and SMS Reporting System orientation to program recipient areas of Lanao del Norte.

Last April 19 to 20, 2022, PNFP Bete visited the municipalities of Magsaysay, Baroy, Matungao, and Tagoloan, Lanao del Norte. NNC X was warmly received by the Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, Punong Barangay, Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and nutrition workers from the municipalities visited.

During the orientation, PNFP Bete provided program updates, guidelines, and social preparation requirements to target local government unit beneficiaries, with the goal of improving the quality and quantity of food and nutrient intakes to help prevent stunting and wasting in children aged 0 to 23 months.

Municipalities and barangays that are part of the program are beginning to plan for the upcoming implementation. Meetings are being arranged to discuss plans and strategies for implementing the program efficiently and effectively in the respective areas hence delivering improved services to the beneficiaries.

As the program progresses, NNC X will continuously provide assistance and support to program implementers of Tutok Kainan DSP in Lanao del Province as a One Region in Nutrition. (PNFP Lizelle Bete)
