27 July 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The National Nutrition Council Region X leads the 2022 Nutrition Month in Northern Mindanao. As part of this year’s movement for better nutrition in the new normal by the Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC) X, the members expressed their commitment and support to the campaign as it calls for strengthened nutrition interventions and solidarity towards nutrition improvement as the country shifts towards living with the COVID-19 virus.

The NM celebration was also supported by academe from Central Mindanao University through the College of Human Ecology, headed by Dean Dr. Mylene A. Anwar, the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics led by Department Chair Dr. Allene Mae N. Marapao, and the Philippine Association of Nutrition – Alpha Pi Chapter with Chairperson Joshua Martin S. Tarocan; and from Adventist Medical Center College by Dr. Pretzel K. Zuniga, Vice President for Academic Affairs.
One of the partners from the non-government agencies likewise showed support in the person of Nutritionist-Dietitians’ Association of the Philippines Cagayan de Oro-Misamis Oriental Chapter headed by President Czarina Pia F. Ong, RND, MPSM.
After living for more than two years with the COVID-19 virus, the country is slowly transitioning to the new normal of living and adaptation to the situation. Therefore, we call that everyone commits to their actions towards eliminating malnutrition and building back better, moving forward to the new normal as we go for #NutrisyongSapatParaSaLahat.
