27 September 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – Following the recently concluded Search for Regional Outstanding Local Nutrition Focal Points (OLNFPs), the Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) convened in a meeting last 26 September 2022 to identify the most outstanding LNFPs per category.

The Search for OLNFP in Region 10 covered the following categories: Provincial Nutrition Action Officer (PNAO), City/Municipal Nutrition Action Officer (C/MNAO), City/Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator (C/MNPC), and Barangay Nutrition Scholar (BNS).

RNET Chair Dr. Arlita Amapola B. Minguez from the Commission on Higher Education and Ms. Toni Gail N. Jariolne of Office of the Civil Defense, with National Nutrition Council (NNC) X led by Nutrition Program Coordinator Gladys Mae S. Fernandez discussed through the results. Particularly, the deliberation focused on the LNFPs’ individual scores which are based on the monitoring and evaluation tool, and interview. Results of the BNS exam were also tackled.

After the presentation of results and deliberations, the RNET finalized the list of top performing focal points. Subsequently, NNC X will facilitate submission to NNC Nutrition Surveillance Division (NSD) for validation. The NNC-NSD will shortlist and validate the Top 50% + 1 endorsements from all regions for a chance to vie for the national awards. (Nutrition Officer III Sheena Marie G.
