(Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, 29 October 2022; Nutrition Officer Rikkie Mae B. Lucero) – A total of 32 Barangay Nutrition Scholars and two Municipal Nutrition Office staff from Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon underwent Basic Computer Literacy Training in partnership with Northern Bukidnon State College, College of Computer Science last October 26-27, 2022 at NBSC ICT laboratory.
The training includes computer basic and hardware troubleshooting discussed by Mr. Jesu A. Bernaldez; Basic Keyboarding, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel by Ms. Cristine Joy G. Sagaosao; and Microsoft PowerPoint and Browser Navigation were taught by Ms. Mona Liel E. Lacsa. There was also a return demonstration after each session which includes actual drafting of letters, BNS PowerPoint presentation and Microsoft Excel data entry using formula.
The partnership between NBSC College of Computer Science and LGU Manolo Fortich Nutrition Office is a greater opportunity for the BNSs to hone their skills to ensure consistency of excellence in service and to guarantee quality of data collection, encoding and interpretation.
The Manolo Fortich Municipal Nutrition Office identifies the need for computer literacy training among the municipality’s BNSs. The work of a BNS greatly involves the use of computer and other devices, given that most of their deliverables include documentation, encoding of Operation Timbang Plus findings and writing of activity report.
