Infographics 2022 RNAC CNPC BrigoliWith eight years of service as City Nutrition Program Coordinator (CNPC) in Valencia City, Ms. Julie Ann Colipano-Brigoli devoted her efforts to ensure that the nutrition program implementation at the barangay level is strengthened.

CNPC Brigoli was able to execute her tasks in ways that went above and beyond, as evident in her best practices that helped her emerge as the Region’s Outstanding CNPC for 2021:

  • Initiated several face-to-face and virtual initiatives. As a staunch nutrition advocate, CNPC Brigoli established the Nutri-Story Telling contest in 2019 to promote nutrition by involving school children. The contest has been sustained since, and several best story tellers from different elementary schools have been awarded for promoting good nutrition while showcasing their talent. CNPC Brigoli also holds the reins in actively managing the City Nutrition Committee’s Facebook Page as its creator and admin. The Search for Best Lactation Room in Valencia City is also her brainchild, a monitoring and incentive mechanism where lactation rooms in the barangays and in private establishments are evaluated to check for compliance to RA 10028.
  • Intensified assistance to designated barangays. CNPC Brigoli makes sure to attend in all meetings and planning activities of her Barangay Nutrition Committees. Her constant support and assistance to her assigned barangays gave her the platform to lobby the nutrition program to all BNC members, as well as to enhance the barangay nutrition program implementation.
  • Mentor to awardee BNSs. Her zeal and dedication to her role as supervisor to the BNSs ensure that the new volunteers assigned in her barangays receive one-on-one mentoring and that the BNSs’ needs are attended to when she visits them at least twice a week. Her hands on mentorship helped her performing BNSs to do better in their line of work. Among her mentee BNSs is Ms. Era S. Flores of Barangay Lumbo, ranked first among all BNSs in the city in 2021. The 2017 Regional Outstanding BNS coming from Brgy. Bagontaas was also under her guidance.
  • Performed technical and administrative tasks. She served as Head of the Admin Section for CY 2021 and facilitated financial and administrative aspects of their office, on top of her designation as focal person for nutrition education concerns.
  • Completed staff work. Amidst her busy schedule, CNPC Brigoli’s documentation skills remain sharp as all the activities she facilitated are complete with supporting records and documents from planning, project proposal, implementation, documentation, and write-ups.
  • Steadfast servant to the profession. CNPC Brigoli serves as the President of the Nutritionist-Dietitians Association of the Philippines - Bukidnon Chapter for 2021-2023.

She walked the talk and stayed true to her advocacies on Infant and Young Child Feeding, which she was able to apply as she takes care of her two-year old son. As a breastfeeding mom, it gave her stronger connection to the IYFC program, allowing her to confidently communicate her own experience and disseminate current and timely information about the value of nutrition in the First 1000 Days.

She was named the 2021 Region X Outstanding CNPC for her dedicated and sincere efforts in promoting good nutrition, eagerly supported by the local government of Valencia City, the City Nutrition Committee, and her fellow nutrition office staff.

Fun fact: CNPC Brigoli authored the 2018 Nutrition Month theme, “Ugaliing magtanim, sapat na nutrisyon aanihin!” (CNPC Valencia City/ NNC X)
