6 December 2022, Cagayan de Oro City – The 3rd Media Advocates for Nutrition in Governance in Region 10 (MANGO DIEZ) Meeting was facilitated by National Nutrition Council Region X last 22 November 2022 at the VIP Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.
Ms. Gladys Mae S. Fernandez, Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator of NNC X, served as the presiding officer, and twelve (12) media partners representing radio, television, print, and social media participated during the meeting.
The meeting started with the presentation of results of the Contest on Short Filmmaking 6.0: Nutrition in the New Normal, followed by the 2022 Accomplishments of MANGO DIEZ by Project Development Officer I Vazamija Therese A. Villasi of NNC X.
She also shared the activities to be conducted in 2023 by NNC X under Social and Behavior Change Communication that involves nutrition promotion across various media platforms. Proposed media placements for next year are radio programs such as One Nutrition, One Nation; Nutrition Month plugs and Nutrition School in the Air (NSOA) on First 1000 Days (F1K). For print, publication of NM article. Airing of NM and Breastfeeding/F1K for television. Reproduction of collateral materials and social media engagement activities were also included.
Special events include the dissemination of Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition and Regional PAN 2023-2028, Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement Forum and the conduct of Regional Webinar with Punong Barangays.
In 2023, the following priorities of MANGO DIEZ are: 1) expansion of membership; 2) submission of radio airing and TVC proposals; 3) regular meetings; 4) assist in the production of nutrition video clips; 5) briefing on Short Filmmaking Contest; and 6) attendance to RPAN 2023-2028 Launching.
Technology is advancing quickly, and with it comes the need for new information dissemination strategies, MANGO DIEZ group will continue to innovate ideas to uphold Northern Mindanao’s commitment to One Region in Nutrition.
