nedaDavao City – the Davao Regional Development Plan (DRDP) 2017-2022 was launched by the Regional Development Council of Davao Region last 07 July 2017 at SMX Convention Center, SM Lanang Premier, J.P. Laurel Avenue, Davao City. The DRDP 2017-2022 is anchored on the 0-10 Point Socioeconomic Agenda of President Rodrigo R. Duterte’s Administration which lays down the foundation for inclusive growth, a high-trust and resilient society, and globally-competitive knowledge economy. This will enable Filipinos to achieve their aspiration of Matatag, Maginhawa at Panatag na buhay.

Regional Road Show was conducted in the morning followed by the launching of DRDP in the afternoon. The activity also featured booth exhibits of different Local Government Units and Government Agencies. The National Nutrition Council showcased the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition, Nutrition Month and Early Childoohd Care and Development Project.

The activity aims to promote awareness to different Regional stakeholders of the socioeconomic directions of the Davao Regional Development Plan. The DRDP has 7 parts, 21 chapters and 3 major pillars; Malasakit (Enhancing Social Fabric), Pagbabago (Reducing Inequality) and Patuloy na Pag-unlad    (Increasing Growth-Potential).

Compostella Valley 1st District Representative Maria Carmen Zamora, Davao Oriental 1st District Representative Corazon N. Malanyon and Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mr. Ronald Anthony C. Go gave their messages and expressed their support to Davao Regional Development Plan 2017-2022 according to the three major pillars.

Representative Corazon N. Malanyon strongly supports the RDPs commitment for the strategic actions for education and skills development, health, nutrition, and social welfare programs and projects.

Furthermore, Regional Director Ma. Lourdes D. Lim of the National Economic and Development Authority said that Davao Region aims to set 11.5% economic growth rate in 2022.

Finally, the activity ended by opening the curtains to officially launch the Davao Regional Development Plan.
