The Social Development Plan Committee’s function is to coordinate all planning and programming activities of the Social Development agencies in relation to development directions identified at the regional and sub-regional levels. And recommend specific policies, strategies and guidelines to carry out the goals and objectives of the regional plan through various social development programs/projects - a formulated timeline, clarified resources, and steps to be taken to reach the goal of Davao Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition (RPAN) 2015-2016 was endorsed to the Second Quarter Meeting of the Social Development Committee XI – Regional Development Council XI last 18th day of June 2015.

Held at the NEDA-RDC XI Center, Bangkal, Davao City as the meeting was presided by the SDC XI Chairperson and DOST Regional Director - Anthony Sales, PhD, CESO II which started 9:30 in the morning.

The endorsement of the Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition 2015-2016 was presented by the NNC XI Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator – Maria Teresa L. Ungson, DMPA. The presentation highlighted the contents of the plan by starting off with the results of the National Nutrition Survey and the 2014 Operation Timbang Plus in which RNPC Ungson elaborated the Goals and Objectives of the RPAN.

It was specially attended by the Executive Director Juan Antionio A. Perez III of the Commission on Population, which presented and discussed: RA 10354 or The Responsible Parenthood; Reproductive Health Act of 2012; and the RH Regional Implementation Team.

After the SDC reviews, analyze and cover3recommends the RPAN, there will be a better and healthier step forward on the state of nutrition in the Davao Region.
