The “Tangkad Talino Program” is an initiative of the Municipality of Kapalong, Davao del Norte which was launched last July 15, 2020 covering 14 barangays. The purpose of this program was to address the problem on malnutrition, to boost immunity in fighting against diseases and to align food security with the new normal era. The program required every barangay to allocate 500 sq meters of land area for a community garden and to replicate this in each purok and household. To aid the said program, the Municipal Nutrition Office distributed seeds to 14 barangays. The produced vegetables from their community gardens will be used to supply the central kitchen for the” Busog Lusog Talino” program.

The success of the program will be assessed through the nutritional impact it had brought based on the percentage of rehabilitated malnourished children 0-59 preschool children and school age children. The evaluation will be conducted on November 2020, March 2021 and July 2021.
The Municipal Nutrition Office also plans to have a livestock dispersal project next year.
