image article on new classrooms for IPsDSWD Kalahi-CIDSS Region XI, in cooperation with the 534 Engineering Brigade Pacesetter Batallion, officially turned-over a total of six newly-built classrooms to the indigenous community of Sitio Banualay, Barangay Gupitan, Kapalong Davao del Norte on November 2, 2020.

Present during the very first flag raising ceremony held in the community were LTC Rolly Figueroa CE (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer of 534ECB, together with the staff members, officers, and NCOs, Security Team from 60IB, and DSWD and Kalahi-CIDSS CLL representatives. This was followed by a simple turn-over ceremony which was graced by the tribal leaders and residents of Sitio Banualay.

This sub-project is under the Construction of Classrooms for Lumads (CCL), which is one of the complimentary projects implemented by Kalahi-CIDSS National Community Driven Development Program. This initiative aims to provide far-flung indigenous cultural communities with classrooms to address educational needs. Classrooms constructed under this project are strategically located in sites where indigenous people reside, thus, encouraging children to enroll to schools since classrooms are already accessible.

Kalahi-CIDSS Region XI extends its greatest appreciation to the 534 Engineering Brigade Pacesetter Batallion for working hand in hand to provide a conducive area of learning to our IPs in Sitio Banualay, Barangay Gupitan, Kapalong Davao del Norte.
