The Regional Development Council (RDC) XI on December 07, 2020, during their virtual 4th quarter meeting for CY 2020 deliberated and approved the CY 2022 Annual Investment Plan (AIP) for Davao Region. Under this approved AIP, priority programs and projects to be implemented include nutrition-sensitive programs and projects such as the construction of road connectivity, farm-to-market roads, bridges, school buildings, ICT innovation hubs, potable water systems, total electrification project (TEP) and Waste to Energy project, among others.

The total amount programmed for the CY 2022 AIP for Davao Region is Php287.561 billion, with Php62.833 billion reserved for Social Development Sector, while Infrastructure Development sector getting the lion’s share at Php193.502 billion, Economic Development sector at Php24.528 billion and Development Administration sector at Php6.698 billion.

Majority of the agencies with proposed highest investment targets came from NNC Governing Board member agencies:  Department of Education (DepEd) XI with PHP 35.81 billion, the Department of Agriculture with PHP 17.73 billion, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) XI with PHP 8.60 billion, and the Department of Health (DOH) XI with 5.73 billion. However, it was the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) XI who had the highest proportion with PHP 186.93 billion proposed investment target, followed only by the said agencies. The combined amounts proposed by these agencies comprise 89 percent of the total public investments in Davao Region.

The CY 2022 AIP is the annual component of the Davao Regional Development Investment Program (RDIP) 2017-2022 Midterm Update containing the list of priority programs, activities and projects (PAPs) of Agency Regional Offices (AROs), state universities and colleges (SUCs), and government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) that translates the objectives of the Davao Regional Development Plan (DRDP), 2017-2022 Midterm Update as well as the targets indicated in the Davao Region Results Matrices, 2017-2022 Midterm Update into specific programs, activities and projects (PAPs) and shall likewise serve as basis in the preparation and review of FY 2022 Budget Proposals.
