28 April 2021 – Maco, Davao de Oro gears up as onset of MELLPI Pro activities is fast approaching. The NNC Davao Region, represented by OIC NO III Alona E. Teo and NO II Megan Kristyl Lendio, personally visited the municipality to conduct a much-needed orientation on MELLPI Pro and provide technical assistance in preparation for the upcoming national evaluation.
The NNC XI team, assisted by the Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator Bhenzar Sam, began the visit by extending their courtesies to the Honorable Mayor Alvera Veronica R. Rimando, Chair of the Municipal Nutrition Committee. OIC NO III Teo, assisted by NOI Lendio, then proceeded with the orientation on the MELLPI Pro Implementing Guidelines and overview on how to use the newly-developed MELLPI Pro Tools for the monitoring and evaluation of LGUs and Focal Persons.
Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Joel Penido welcomed the participants to the orientation and expressed his appreciation to NNC for the technical assistance, as they are hoping that they would be able to maintain their CROWN Award for the first year. Participants to the orientation were representatives from the different member agencies of the Municipal Nutrition Committee.
After the comprehensive orientation and overview on MELLPI Pro as the more evolved monitoring and evaluation tool in Nutrition Program, the NNC XI team proceeded to the review of available documents relative to Maco’s Nutrition Program implementation. The Municipal Nutrition Office Staff and the NNC XI team discussed in detail some pointers on how to ensure the complete documentation of nutrition and nutrition-related activities and the systematic organization of their files. This is to ensure that the upcoming nutrition program evaluation by the National Nutrition Evaluation Team will go smoothly.
The municipality of Maco, as a Consistent Regional Outstanding Winner in Nutrition (CROWN) Awardee in 2019, is vying for the 1st Year CROWN Maintenance Award this year.
