National Breastfeeding Awareness Month is celebrated every August. It is celebrated in several ways all over the country. Activities like webinars, mother lectures, big groups simultaneous latch and as such are being done to achieve its ultimate goal- to promote and highlight the importance of breastfeeding for both mothers and infants as well as to convey the benefits of breastmilk.

In celebration of the National Breastfeeding Month. Bai Hinang a group of female artists in Davao City together with the Dabawenyo Artist Federation Inc. (DAFI) and SM cares collaborated to showcase and promote breastfeeding through an art show exhibit entitled PAG-AMUMA: An Art Show on Breastfeeding Awareness.

In the interview with two of the event organizers - Sol Jickain and Kristin Gaid, they shared that the Artshow was a way for them to reconnect to their beautiful experience as a breastfeeding mom. “From the title of the exhibit itself, PAG- AMUMA is beyond breastfeeding, it describes mothers' love and nurturing nature”, Sol Jickain added.

A total of 49 artworks were showcased in SM Lanang Atrium conveying distinct stories and messages behind its artworks and depicting different visual interpretations of Minadanaon women’s motherhood and breastfeeding journey.
