kiwiKiwi also called kiwifruit or Chinese gooseberry, which are native to the temperate forests of the mountains and hills of southwest China. It was brought to New Zealand in 1904 by a school teacher named Isabel Fraser, who brought kiwi seeds back home with her after traveling through China. It has a brown, hairy appearance earning it the same name as the little bird that is the country’s emblem. The green and sun-gold kiwis are the two most commonly consumed kiwi species.

Additionally, Kiwi is exceptionally high in vitamin C and contain an array of other nutrients, notably nutritionally relevant levels of dietary fiber, potassium, vitamin E, potassium, copper, vitamin K,  and folate, as well as various bioactive components, including a wide range of antioxidants, phytonutrients, and enzymes, that act to provide functional and metabolic benefits and digestive health.
