The National Nutrition Council Region XII conducted a 2-day PGN Feedback Workshop last November 27-28, 2012 at Rhoannas Grill, Mlang, Cotabato Province participated by Regional BNS Federation Officers and the Municipal BNS Federation Presidents and facilitated by NPC Arceli Latonio together with the Nutrition Officers II, Roselle T. Macadaaan and Pearl Joy Cabarlo. The workshop aims to evaluate the impact of the conducted PGN- IYCF Training Workshop to the selected health providers. Also, this determines whether the trained participants have conducted down-level trainings.

During the Workshop, it was found that there were some of the municipalities were able to roll-out the information up to the household through mothers’ class, however Half of which was not able to conduct the said training due to the limited funds and lack of resource persons.

The feedback workshop also paved way to the various reactions and suggestions by the participants to further improve the manner of providing training-workshops. Recognizing that some of the trained health providers are no longer in service and some needs to invigorate the learned topics, the participants requested to conduct refresher course on the PGN-IYCF Training. Another issue that arose was the language used in developing IEC materials. The BNSs proposed that if possible, IEC materials shall be constructed in native language to facilitate the ease of understanding. Along with this, the different municipalities showcased their good practices/ strategies towards the improvement the nutrition situation during the said workshop.

The PGN Feedback Workshop ended with a vast commitment to pursue and strengthen the promotion on good nutrition to form a nutritionally- competent SOCCKSARGEN.
