Koronadal City-The National Nutrition Council XII had undergone 3rd Cycle of Internal Quality Audit (IQA) last November 28-29, 2016. Members of the IQA Team coming from NNC Central office were composed of Ms. Maybelle T. Aspeli- Administrative Officer III, Mr. Serapio D. Camarines-Administrative Officer V and Ms. Ellen Ruth Abella, Nutrition Officer IV, as their Audit Team leader.
The audit aims to: a) verify corrective actions undertaken based on findings in previous audit b) determine the adequacy and effectiveness of the Quality Management Systems (QMS) documentation and implementation of the 7 Core Process (Nutrition Policy Analysis, Nutrition Policy Formulation, Nutrition Planning, Nutrition Program Formulation, Public Information and Communication, Nutrition Surveillance, Monitoring and Evaluation and Nutrition Capacity Development), c) determine the adequacy and effectiveness of QMS documentation and implementation of the Support Services covering Records and Documentation Management, Procurement of Goods and Services and Financial Resources Management, d) determine areas for improvement and e) determine readiness of the NNC Regional Office XII for external audit.
The audit team had also identified some core processes needed to be enhanced for opportunities of improvement, specifically, the Records and Documentation management. On the otherhand, NNC XII is still in the cusp of both pressure and overwhelm when the team commended the region for being generally in conformity of the set core processes in accordance to QMS guidelines.
“You’ve improved a lot” was the overall remark of the IQA Team. This brought NNC XII, led by NPC Arceli M. Latonio, another bucket of motivation and determination in continuing its endeavor to improve the quality management system as stated in the NNC Quality Policy, that is to satisfy the needs and expectations of its clients with strict adherence to existing laws, rules and regulations.
