KORONADAL CITY- The Regional Nutrition Evaluation Team (RNET) for Nutrition convened for pre-monitoring and evaluation meeting on 24th of April at NNC XII Office, Koronadal City attended by eight (8) representatives from various agencies (DA, DILG, DSWD, NCIP, NEDA, PopCom and Save the Children).
In her welcome message, NPC Latonio emphasized that the meeting aims to finalize the MELLPI Pro schedules and capacitate and prepare the RNET members for the upcoming monitoring and evaluation. The team is set to assess the Barangay Nutrition Scholars’ 2018 performance in the implementation of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) and in the service delivery at the local level from May to June 2019. Meanwhile, evaluation period for the LGUs will start on the month of August.
As endorsed by the NNC Technical committee, the team will now utilize the new tool, otherwise known as MELLPI Pro (Updated Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation Protocol). The new tool will cover two parts: (1) an institutional component which evaluates various organizational attributes pertaining to nutrition governance in local governance units and the (2) worker component which evaluates management performance of frontline nutrition staff at the local level.
On the otherhand, this year’s monitoring and evaluation team will be chaired by DILG represented by Ms. Aslamia Kumpo and Ms. Sherilyn Malabiga as Vice-Chair from Save the Children.
With the system’s transition, the team is all geared up both for the adjustments and new challenges they are going to take as evaluators. But on top of this is their hyped eagerness that is so much evident to help in undertaking activities which may capacitate Local Nutrition Committees to mobilize support in achieving PPAN goals and outcomes.
