ZUMBA Zumba is an exercise fitness program that combines Latin and international music with elements of dance and aerobics. It is an active form of recreation that have many health benefits.
Doing a zumba routine will burn calories and fats, build endurance, improve cardiovascular fitness, improve blood pressures, boosts your heart health, reduces health risks, helps you de-stress and it makes you happy. One who engage in zumba is proven to experience a long-lasting positive effects on health, especially on emotional well-being.


The National Nutrition Council Region XII designs the first ever Zumba dance video contest online specifically on Facebook since social media has been widely used in today’s generation to increase awareness and persuade the public to engage in different kind of activities. The contest is parallel with the 2019 Nutrition Month Theme “Kumain nang wasto at maging aktibo… push natin ‘to!” though it will only focus on physical activity which aims to reduce sedentary lifestyle and in the prevention, delay and management of non-communicable disease.


The zumba dance video contest is open to all the Barangay Nutrition Scholars in the region and to all member agencies of the Regional Nutrition Committee.
Further, winners of the said contest will be awarded during the Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (RNAC) and winning entries will be used as advocacy materials and will become an exclusive property of NNC. (NOILaurito/NOIIIFlores)
