PIR 2019 REGION 12

SOCCSKSARGEN—The National Nutrition Council XII conducted its 2019 Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition Program Implementation Review held at Cinco Niñas, Koronadal City.

Attended by a total of 18 participants coming from different LGUs and Regional Nutrition Committee members, the activity aims to determine the progress of PPAN 2017-2022 and the necessary adjustments in order to meet the objectives set by 2022.

 

The activity was also composed of workshops in three (3) sessions to assess the extent of which strategies and targets planned for PPAN in the results framework was implemented, identify the gaps and challenges encountered in the implementation and coordination of PPAN, identify strategic targets that needs adjustment and to identify strategies to improve plan implementation in 2019 to 2022.
The LGUs (South Cotabato and Sultan Kudarat Province, cities of Kidapawan, Koronadal and Gen. Santos) presented their 2019 accomplishments highlighting the results of their OPT 2019 and PPAN programs’ accomplishments.

On the otherhand, the Regional Nutrition Committee members had able to reassess and identify the actual accomplishments versus targets in the RPAN results framework and/or RPAN for 2019-2022.

NPC Latonio had been grateful to all the LGUs and RNC members in general and recognized their unceasing efforts in the implementation of nutrition program. She also stressed out the importance of local initiatives which are valuable and responsive to the needs of the vulnerable groups (particularly the pregnant and lactating women, 0-59 months old children and the elderlies) which will serve as strategic actions to improve the nutrition situation of the region.
