SOCCSKSARGEN---Last December 19, 2020, a total of 20 graduates were lauded by National Nutrition Council Region XII of the first ever 10 Kumainments Nutrition e-school via online. Highlight of the virtual activity was the presentation of graduates and awarding of certificates (completion and participation) to e-schoolers who have successfully participated the 12 sessions. Four e-schoolers were also recognized as Kumainment Honor Students as follows: Top 1-Marilou Lanoy from Koronadal City, Top 2-Jacenth De Leon from Baguio City, Top 3-Shanerisse Tamondong from La Trinidad, Benguet and Top 4-Prime Moleno from Koronadal City. All Kumainment Honor Students will receive tokens and certificate of recognition.
The 12 sessions were derived from Nutrition school on-the-air modules covering talking points of the Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos also known as the 10 Kumainments. To recall, the Nutrition e-school started last November 10 and had its 12th session on December 12 with NO III Flores and NO II Aurel as e-school teachers. This was an initiative to create awareness to the general public to adopt good nutrition practices utilizing the online platform considering the pandemic situation.
The top four students had a privilege to share their responses about the Nutrition e-school. Ms. Marilou Lanoy being the top 1 of the class was so much grateful for this opportunity wherein she was able to learn more about 10 Kumainments especially that she is currently a nutrition worker. Other honor students from CAR region, Ms. De Leon and Ms. Tamondong were also thankful to NNC XII for considering them as official enrolees of Nutrition e-school. Both are BSND students and are actually classmates, expressed that all those concepts are not only helpful in improving their way of life but also in their chosen career. Likewise, Ms. Moleno commended NNC 12 for this initiative as this will enlighten those people who have no background in nutrition like her.
In her special message, NPC Arceli Latonio posed a challenge to all graduates to be an advocate and impart their learnings to others as this will truly begin a milestone for a healthier lifestyle to ensure well-nourished communities. (DPA/AMF/NPC)
