May 29, 2015, Kidapawan City- The Department of Health Region 12 launched Universal Health Care – High Impact Five Summit at JC Cnvention Center, Kidapawan City last May 27-28, 2015. The summit focused on the evaluation and assessment as well as building of more innovations on the High Impact Five Programs in the Region which are Maternal Health, Under Five, Infant Health, HIV and Service Delivery Network (SDN).
The summit started through a Float Parade participated by 10 municipalities displaying their uniquely designed floats. Municipality of President Roxas was awarded as the most innovative and attractive float and received 40,000 cash award. The guest speaker was U/Sec. of Health Dr. Paulyn Jean Rossel-Ubial. Around 300 participants from LGUs, government agencies and non-government organizations attended the said summit.
Hon. Victor James Yap, Municipal Mayor of Glan and Hon. Jaime Mahimpit Municipal Mayor President Roxas shared their Leadership Journey towards a successful implementation of the High Impact Five Programs in their respective municipalities, MHO Representatives from M’lang and Kidapawan City presented also their best practices on the High Impact Five Programs.
Dr. Fatima Emban of DOH XII, presented the Universal Health Care-High Impact Five (UHC-HIF), she gave emphasis on the special breakthrough services of the DOH and these are the following Caravan/Roadshow-Scheduled on June 23 and June 30, 2015, RAIDERS, Kits for Maternal and Teen, SDN for every Family, Micronutrient ++ (ASAPP), Mass Deworming (2x/yr), Ultrasound, Blood donation and networking, PCV 13, PBI LGUs ( Gawad Kalusugan ) and Transport. The NNC XII was tasked to spearhead the cooking demo and contest during the caravan. Dr. Emban also shared other activities of High Impact Five such as the Buntis Congress which will be on October 2015 and February 2016 to be held at Cotabato and Sarangani province respectively.
Workshop was also done to assess and evaluate on the current status of the 5 impact programs in the respective local government units. The summit ended with the signing of pledge of commitment.
