The National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region XII conducted an awarding ceremony last December 29, 2011 at Fred- Anns Food Haus, Koronadal City. Participants to the said activity were delegates from Local Government Units particularly the awardees (selected Barangay Nutrition Scholars region wide and outstanding LGUs) and representatives from the regional agencies. Gov. Arthur Y. “Dodo” Pingoy, Hon. Mayor Peter B. Miguel, and Dra. Adimelca Gangoso (as the representative of Dir. Abdullah H. Dumama) delivered their key note message, welcome message and inspirational speech respectively.
Hon. Mayor B. Peter Miguel welcomed the participants. He commended the programs and advocacies of the NNC and the people behind such successes.

Gov. Arthur Y. “Dodo” Pingoy encouraged inter-agency coordination and collaboration during his key note message in implementing nutrition programs.

Dr. Gangoso was pleased to inform everyone that the malnutrition and poverty in the Philippines has decreased due to the intense programs made by the different sectors of the government.

In closing, NNC Region XII Program Coordinator, Ms. Arceli Latonio, thanked everyone for their utmost participation in the awarding ceremony. She extends her warm gratitude to the BNS and the Local Government Units as well as the Regional agencies for supporting and investing for the nutritional programs towards eradication of malnutrition and hunger.
