NUTRI DOSE

In pursuit to scale up nutrition information and promotion, the National Nutrition Council Region XII conducted a virtual meeting last February 10, 2021 via zoom together with its regional media group. The meeting aims to increase public awareness of the current nutrition situation and seek support and commitment of the regional media group in promoting nutrition campaign in the region. 

The meeting was presided by Ms. Agnes Myra Piñol, President of the Nutrition in Development Organization of Social Educators (Nutri-DOSE).Through the initiative of Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, Ms. Arceli M. Latonio, the council oriented the group on the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program. With the Tutok Kainan Program’s aims, particularly to contribute in the prevention of stunting among children 0-23 months old, the members affirmed their support to ensure efficiency in the delivery of the services and implementation of the program.  On the otherhand, NNC XII have also discussed the Interim Guidelines on the conduct of (Operation Timbang Plus) OPT in times of COVID for information. Hence, the organization is expected to take part in the dissemination of the guidelines among LGUs to achieve safe OPT and Growth Monitoring and Promotion (GMP) activities.

Further, Ms. Annalita Mae Flores, Nutrition Officer III presented the Regional Nutrition Situation for CY 2020 emphasizing the areas with high incidence of malnutrition.  During the meeting, the participants recognized the need to strengthen advocacy and promotion to the Local Nutrition Committee as well as increasing nutrition education campaign to attain the goal of ending all forms of Malnutrition in the Region.

In addition, NNC XII together with Nutri-Dose strengthens its partnership and collaboration in expanding its  communication network in advocating the fight against malnutrition through the formulation of the 2021 Workplan.
