13 March 2014, Koronadal City - The 45th Regular Meeting of Regional Development Council (RDC) XII was held last March 5, 2014. Salient matters and major agreements reached during the recent regular meeting of the RSDC XII held last 24 February 2014, which was reported by the RSDC Chair Richlie Lyndon L. Magtulis, that needs appropriate action of RDC were presented.
One of the issues raised during the RSDC meeting was the compliance of bus operators on the LTFRB’s directive to designate Breastfeeding seats inside the buses for mothers. It was mentioned that only Yellow Bus Line and Holiday Bus Company in Region XII complied the said directive.
Hence, the first RSDC resolution was passed, RSDC XII Resolution No. 5, S. 2014, reiterating the RDC XII Resolution No. 94, s. 2011 (Requesting the LTFRB to issue a circular/directive requiring all bus operators in Region XII to designate a breastfeeding seat inside their buses) and RDC Resolution No. 79 series of 2012 (Requesting the LTO to conduct inspection of compliance of bus companies in Region XII on designating seats in their buses for breastfeeding mothers and report its findings, including actions taken to improve compliance to this directive, to the RSDC XII).
With the consensus of the body and recognizing the relevance of setting up or designating breastfeeding seat inside the buses, the committee agreed that Yellow Bus Line and Holiday Bus Company will be given due recognition in the form of plaque for their compliance and support pertinent to RDC XII Resolutions, as well as to LTFRB XII’s directive. Hence, RSDC Resolution No. 6, s. 2014 was passed for RDC Action/approval re: Awarding of Yellow Bus Line (YBL) and Holiday Bus Company a Plaque of Recognition as “Breastfeeding-Friendly Buses” in Region XII.
Meanwhile, to strengthen advocacy and generate support of the committee in the dissemination to concerned stakeholders on the promotion and practice of the Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos (NGF), the committee agreed to support NNC XII’s advocacy thru RSDC Resolution No. 7, s. 2014, “ Supporting the Advocacy Efforts on the Promotion and Practice of the Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos”.
All these three (3) RSDC resolutions were passed and approved by the RDC XII on March 5, 2014.
