ro12 Region-XII deped7 February 2014- National Nutrition Council XII conducted an advocacy forum and school-based promotion of the Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos. Fifty (50) teaching personnel from Koronadal City and South Cotabato District attended the activity at Casa Gemma Hotel and Restaurant, Koronadal City.
The promotion aims to improve the nutritional status, productivity and quality of life of the population, through the adoption of desirable dietary practices and healthy lifestyle among school children and teaching personnel.

Nutrition Program Coordinator Arceli M. Latonio thanked the participants for accepting the invitation as well as their utmost support in improving the nutritional status of Region XII. Hereafter, NO III Gladys Mae Fernandez presented the Nutritional Guidelines for Filipinos and its objective. The teaching personnel were very attentive to the presentation and by then, each of the participant pledge to support, practice and disseminate the nutrition messages in their respective schools and community.

The activity was filled much learning and excitement as NNC XII gave away tokens in form of collateral materials during the trivia and raffle. Dr. Sylvia Vivian Galang, Medical Officer IV of DepEd Region 12 ended the activity with a message thanking everyone for their active participation and support to the nutrition programs, which can improve the well-being of the school children.

The activity was indeed a success thru the collective efforts of each and everyone. As what the NNC Logo symbolizes that: improving the nutrition situation cannot be achieved by spoonfeeding alone nor by the generosity of a single sector's spoon. It requires collaboration in creating and recreating ideas, seeking unity and totality of approach toward nutritional adequacy for all Filipinos.
