8 June 2021---The Local Nutrition Focal Points of SOCCSKSARGEN convened on a special virtual meeting for the updates on Nutrition Program. The said activity was attended by around 74 participants composed of Nutrition Action Officers, District/City/Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinators and Nutritionist-Dietitians of DOH XII in the region.
The participants were welcomed by OIC-Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator, Ms. Annalita Flores, acknowledging as well their untiring efforts in providing the best nutrition services in their respective areas despite the challenges brought by the pandemic.
The highlights of the said activity include the discussion of the following: Results of Survey on Nutrition Service Continuity, MELLPI Pro Updates and re-scheduling, EOPT Updates, Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program updates and accomplishments, NNC Online Recall Survey Findings and 2021 Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme, “Malnutrisyon, patuloy na labanan, First 1000 Days, tutukan!".
LGUs were also requested to submit their 2020 Accomplishment report thru the matrices provided not later than the 30th of June this year. Meanwhile, NNC XII also encourages all Local Nutrition Focal Points to create their respective facebook pages for the LGU’s Nutrition Program, considering social media as one of the most effective and powerful communication media in accessing nutrition-related information. Other matter discussed was about the schedule of LNC functionality assessment.
The Local Nutrition Focal Points are expected to relay the nutrition updates in their respective Local Nutrition Committees. Henceforth, NNC XII continues to commit and reaffirm should there be any appropriate technical assistance needed as requested to ensure support in the Nutrition Program management.
