SOCCSKSARGEN - September 7, 2021 – The National Nutrition Council (NNC) XII held a joint virtual meeting of NAOs and D/CNPCs via Zoom. There were 51 Local Nutrition Focal Points (LNFP) from across the region in attendance namely: Nutrition Action Officers, District/ City and Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinators, Nutrition Staff and HRH-Nutritionist Dietitians

The purpose of the meeting is to provide nutrition updates and address local issues and concerns on nutrition program and related activities, as well as to discuss the following: (1) MELLPI Pro Schedule for LGU (2) Status of Submission of NM Reports (3) Status of Submission of Approved LNAPs (4) Regional LGU Mobilization (5) 2020 LGU Nutrition Accomplishment (6) Status of Submission of 2021 OPT results (7) Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program (8) 2021 Regional Nutrition Awarding Ceremony (9) Issuance of 2021 BNS ID.

During the meeting it was emphasized that LNFPs should notify the NNC XII of their desired MELLPI Pro for LGU schedule in advance as well as the request for any technical assistance. Further, deadline of the submission of various documentation reports such as Local Nutrition Action Plan (LNAP), 2021 Operation Timbang (OPT) results, Nutrition Month Documentation Report, 2020 Accomplishment Report were set and agreed by the attendees along with the submission of important data needed for the Tutok Kainan Supplementation Program.

The Provincial Nutrition Focal Points (PNFP) of Sarangani Province – Ms. Katty T. Parreño and Sultan Kudarat Province – Ms. Kristine Lorraine T. Madayag were also introduced during the said meeting.

The NNC XII will continue to work closely with the Local Government Units through the LNFP to coordinate, update, and provide technical assistance to improve the implementation of Nutrition Program thereby achieving PPAN outcomes. (NOII Utlang/OIC-NPC Flores)
