In its aim to further transform Local Government Units in delivering nutritional outcomes, the Regional Mobilization Team continues to visit targeted areas for Local Nutrition Action Planning (LNAP)  Workshop.

Last November 11-12, 2021, NO II Danah Pearl Aurel together with NO I Ruby Ann Laurito facilitated the LNAP Workshop in Banisilan, Cotabato attended by their Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, HRH-ND, Planning Officer, Budget Office and representatives from Agriculture Office and DepEd. The team had also an opportunity for a courtesy call with the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Jesus Alisasis. 

Subsequently, RNPC Retsebeth Laquihon together with NO II Danah Pearl Aurel and PNFP Marie Jane Lihao headed to Midsayap, Cotabato in November 15-16, 2021 for the same objectives. The 2-day LNAP Workshop was attended by the MNAO, HRH-NDDP, Planning Officer, MSWDO head and DepEd representatives. The team had an opportunity as well to meet their honorable Mayor, Hon. Romeo Araña. Moreover, RNPC Laquihon encouraged the Local Chief Executive to strengthen their LGU Nutrition Program through the establishment of a nutrition office or hiring of LGU personnel for nutrition from the additional Internal Revenue Allotment (IRA) resulting from the implementation of the supreme court ruling on the Mandanas case.

As for the next steps, the visited LGUs were advised for the following: (1) Conduct of regular Municipal Nutrition Committee Meetings (2) Polishing of MNAP 2022 (3) Formulation/Crafting of the MNAP 2023-2025 (4) Passing of MNC Resolution for MNAP and to be supported by SB and (5) to integrate MNAP in the LGU Annual Investment Plan.
