KORONADAL CITY - The Province of South Cotabato conducted the Provincial Nutrition Committee Meeting on Monday, December 6, 2021. 

The meeting was held at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office Conference Room, Koronadal City, South Cotabato, facilitated by South Cotabato District Nutrition Program Coordinators Angela Frugalidad, Earl Rey Madres, Liza Enamno, and Program Assistant Joy Quidilla. A total of 10 participants composed of representatives from different offices namely Social Welfare and Development Office (SWDO), Agri-Tech Office, Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO), Statistics Office, Budget Office, Population Office and the National Nutrition Council (NNC) Region XII Provincial Nutrition Focal Point Kristine Charl B. Nadela attended the Provincial Nutrition Committee Meeting.

 

Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator of NNC Region XII, Retsebeth M. Laquihon, was also present in the meeting and was formally introduced to the members of South Cotabato Provincial Nutrition Committee. Together with this, she delivered updates on the Regional Nutrition Situation, First 1000 Days of Life, priority nutrition actions, nutrition devolution and establishment of functional nutrition offices.

Integrated Provincial Health Office Nutritionist-Dietitian II Ms. Francy E. Aguilar then presented plans for Disaster Risk Reduction Management in Health - Nutrition in Emergencies (DDRM-H-NiE).

Activities and updates on Nutrition Program were also successfully discussed by the facilitators, including the updates on the Buntis Alagaan Tamang Atensyon Kailangan (BATAK) and Sagop Bata Supplementary Feeding Program, Evaluation for Best Gulayan sa Ugsaran, Orientation on new BNS Forms and PPAN, release of BNS honorarium, approval of provisions of benefits and incentives to all South Cotabato BNSs, adaptation of different nutrition-related mandates on the national level, turnover of computers to South Cotabato LGUs, as well as other matters such as the submission of reports by the LGU.
