KORONADAL CITY---  The Local Government Unit of Koronadal City through the initiative of City Nutrition Office headed by CNAO Nancy Adalin,  conducted orientation on the Formulation of Local Nutrition Action Plan attended by 27 City Nutrition Committee (CNC) members held on February 23, 2022 at Villa Princessita, Koronadal City. The activity aims to strengthen the CNC's collaborative efforts in crafting their Local Nutrition Action Plans for 2022 and 2023-2025.

Nutrition Officers of National Nutrition Council XII represented by Ms. Leah Fe Utlang and Ms. Danah Pearl Aurel served as Resource Persons during the said activity. Among the highlights discussed were the review of Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition and First 1000 days, Presentation of LGU’s nutrition situation, concepts on Nutrition Program management emphasizing LNC composition, roles and responsibilities and Orientation workshop on formulating Local Nutrition Action Plan.

City Mayor Eliordo Ogena, Chairperson of City Nutrition Committee also delivered an inspiring message, assuring the nutrition program of his commitment and support. The Local Chief Executive lauded the members for their presence serving as pillars of the City Nutrition Committee.

As depicted in the NNC’s Official Logo, the participants were encouraged to be one of the spoons, advocating good nutrition in their fellow Koronadaleños particularly covering the First 1000 days of life. On the otherhand, the CNC plays a crucial role in the integration of the formulated Local Nutrition Action Plan in the Annual Investment Program, Comprehensive Development Plan and Local Development Plan which will support increased financing and action on nutrition at the local level.
