The month of March of every year is set to celebrate National Women’s Month where we pay recognition to the many contributions of women in the society. This is pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 227 Series of 1988 that declares March as Women’s Role in History Month.

This year as we celebrate National Women’s Month, the National Nutrition Council SOCCSKSARGEN Region acknowledged the contribution, service and effort of all the women who play a critical role in having a healthy and well-nourished nation.

A woman who carries a baby in her womb and ensures a healthy pregnancy throughout her journey, practice exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of the child’s life and introduces complementary feeding while continuing breastfeeding up to two years of the child, provide and prepare meals for the family, an implementer and advocator of health and nutrition both in the family and the society as a whole, have a great impact on the health of the children and the future generation by protecting them against infectious diseases during the first year of life and non-communicable disease in adult life.

NNC XII took part in this month-long celebration by hanging the 2022 NWMC streamer and disseminating the advocacy campaign online thru its social media platforms.
