15 March 2022---The Regional Nutrition Committee-Technical Working Group (RNC-TWG) conducted its first-quarter blended-mode meeting joint with the Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD)-Technical Working Group held at Villa Amor Hotel, Koronadal City and via Zoom videoconference. The activity was attended by a total of 11 participants from the following regional agencies: DOH, DILG, DA, DSWD, NEDA, DEPED, PopCom, DAR and Save the Children.

The National Nutrition Council XII staff facilitated the activity with the presence of RNPC Retsebeth Laquihon. The following topics were covered in the RNCTWG meeting: 2021 Regional Nutrition Situation, Status of LGUs in Devolution Transition Plans (updates to be provided by DILG and NNC), Updates for 2022 Lined-up Regional Nutrition Activities, and Regional Shepherding Overview. The ECCD-TWG agenda, on the other hand, included the following items: ECCD F1K Review, Nutrition Situation of the F1K Group, ECCD F1K Programs/Projects/Activities, Organization of Breastfeeding Task Force, and other matters.

As part of the agreements, the Technical Working Group will also spearhead the creation of the Regional Nutrition Shepherding Team (RNST) and Breastfeeding Task Force to be supported by RNC resolutions. Further, the NNC secretariat shall send out letters to all TWG members regarding the request to be part of the RNST.

The Technical Working Group, as the working arm of the Regional Nutrition Committee (RNC), oversees developing policies, planning, and implementing the RNC workplan to meet the year's Regional Plan of Action for Nutrition (RPAN) targets. (NO II Aurel/NO III Flores/RNPC)
