Save the Children Philippines conducted Regional Inter-Agency Forum last March 23, 2022, at Paraiso Verde Hotel, Koronadal City, to intensify collaboration and strengthen partnership with national government agencies. The meeting serves as an avenue to share the programs and priorities of the organization and how they can extend support to the various government agencies’ programs and priorities.
NOI Laurito represented NNC XII during the forum. Other partner agencies that attended the said activity were PhilHealth XII, DOH XII, DOLE XII, DepEd XII, DSWD XII, OCD XII, and NEDA XII. Partner agencies shared and presented their programs, projects and activities assisting the welfare and protection of the children.
NOI Laurito presented the agency’s mandates and its programs, projects and activities that directly or indirectly benefit the children. She also presented the 2021 Regional Nutrition Situation emphasizing the Top 10 LGUs in the Region with the highest prevalence rates, per nutrition status, based on the 2021 OPT Plus report. NOI Laurito likewise introduced the Tutok Kainan Dietary Supplementation Program of NNC that aims to provide complementary food for children 6-23 months for 180 calendar days, prioritizing those undernourished, stunted and wasted infants and children.
Further on the presentation of action points, Save the Children Philippines suggested that NNC develop concept notes, especially on understanding and addressing the root causes of malnutrition, targeting the top 3 LGUs in the Region with the highest malnutrition prevalence rates.
