SOUTH COTABATO--- The National Nutrition Council Region XII, headed by RNPC Retsebeth Laquihon, together with NO III Annalita Mae Flores and NO II Danah Pearl Aurel facilitated a Planning Workshop on Provincial Nutrition Action Plan 2023–2025 Formulation for the Province of South Cotabato. This activity aims to mobilize the LGU in shaping their Provincial Nutrition Action Plan with budget for integration into the province's PDPFP and AIP.

The activity was held on May 17-18, 2022 at PSWDO Conference Room, Capitol Compound, Koronadal City and attended by 15 members from the Provincial Nutrition Committee composed of the following offices: DILG, PHO, PSWDO, PAGRO, DepEd Division Office, PPO, PPDO, PBO, PDRRMC, PIO, PVET, and PNC Secretariat.

Highlights in Day 1 include: NNC Overview and Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition, Nutrition Situation, Presentation of NNC Proposal on Strengthening Nutrition Program at the LGU Level, Investing in Nutrition, Overview of the Nutrition Program Management Cycle, Parts of the LNAP, Formulating Causal Model of Malnutrition and Situational Analysis. During Day 2, processing of the outputs in Formulating their Problem Tree along with their Mission and Vision was done. Other points of discussion scoped the Setting of Outcome Targets and Identifying Nutrition PPAs and Budget Estimates.

The PNC has yet to convene for a separate meeting to polish the drafted plan, which will be adopted through the issuance of a resolution. The activity is part of an ongoing effort to provide technical assistance to local governments in order to strengthen local plans and budgets for improved nutrition outcomes.
