A total of 200 pregnant women participated in the Buntis Congress 2022 and 48th Nutrition Month Culmination conducted by LGU Pigcawayan on July 28 at the Municipal Gymnasium.
Present during the aforementioned activity were the Municipal Administrator Dr. Silvino Q. Tejada; Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Hilario Tenorio, Municipal Nutrition Action Officer, Ms. Maritess Llegado, RN and RHU staff of LGU Pigcawayan.
Ruby Ann Laurito, Development Management Officer II represented NNC XII and discussed nutrition during pregnancy. The topic covered the changes that occur during pregnancy and the consequences of maternal undernutrition.
Ms. Laurito also highlighted the six critical interventions in the First 1000 Days of life and explain the right proportion of food that pregnant women should consume per meal using the DOST-FNRI Pinggang Pinoy for Pregnant Women.
Another topic discussed were First 1000 Days presented by Dr. Neil Ernan Nipal, Department of Health-Doctor to the Barrio and Complication in Pregnancy given by Nurse IV-Supervisor, Ms. Rayda Mana-ay, RN, MPM.
Through Municipal Administrator Dr. Tejada, LGU Pigcawayan, led by Municipal Mayor Agustin, extended its best wishes to all attendees and pledged its complete support for the nutrition programs.
