June 20, 2022, the City of Koronadal, South Cotabato, concluded their 48th Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme "NEW NORMAL NA NUTRITION, SAMA-SAMANG GAWAN NG SOLUSYON!" The event took place at Rizal Park, Brgy. Zone 4, Koronadal City.
The City Nutrition Office, led by Nancy Adalin, RN, MAN, City Nutrition Action Officer, and her team, spearheaded the said event. The Cooking Contest, in which the city's 24 Barangays competed, was the event's highlight.
Mayor Eliordo U. Ogena, chairman of the City Nutrition Committee graced the event. The city mayor emphasizes that proper nutrition is one of the most important aspects of becoming a healthier Koronadal citizen.
Angela B. Frugalidad, RND of the Provincial Social Services and Welfare Office also attended the event as one of the cooking contest judges.
The cooking contest was won by Barangay San Roque, with Barangay St. Nino coming in second and Barangay Zone III coming in third.
The city believes that cooking food with the right ingredients and amount has a direct effect as the city battles with chronic malnutrition. (FMM/AMF/RNPCRML)
